What are your Opening Times?

We are open Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Through the Summer (March to November) we open from 10am until 4pm except Sundays which is 12 noon to 4pm.

When it gets colder in the Winter (December to February) we open 11am until 3pm except Sundays which is 12 noon until 3pm.

How much does it cost to enter the museum?

It is free to enter the museum and discover our artefacts and hear about the history behind the Ordnance Depot. If you enjoyed your visit and wish to do so, then we would welcome a small donation to help in the maintaining and running of the museum.

Are you lottery funded?

The Visitor Centre was set up and opened in 2018 thanks to a grant from The National Lottery Heritage fund but continues to run as a non-profit charity by a team of motivated and knowledgeable volunteers, and funded by visitor donations, sales and events.

Do you do Walking Tours?

Yes we do… Walking Tours of the site, accompanied by our well informed volunteer guides are available by booking, (along with refreshments (if required) for a small fee. To get prices or book, email or call in at the Visitor Centre..

Are you looking for more Volunteers?

The Visitor Centre is always looking out for new Volunteers. Just 3 hours per week and training given to enable you to pass on knowledge of this historical site. Email the Visitor Centre to find out how to feel part of the friendly volunteer group.
